Mike Mok, the founder of Sangkaya, loved coconut since childhood. After studying biology and chemistry in college and working as a teacher, he decided to create coconut gelato using coconut milk and coconut water instead of milk and eggs, using his love for research.

After many attempts to create gelato that carries the nutrients and natural flavor of coconuts, often referred to as a super fruit, Sangkaya successfully achieved the perfect gelato, focusing on coconut varieties and freshness.

Founded in Malaysia, Sangkaya has opened 30 stores in 5 years since its launch, with “Nuts about Coconuts” and “Making Healthy Eating Pleasurable” as the brand’s slogan.

Sangkaya’s “vegan-style” coconut gelato can be enjoyed by children, as it has no preservatives, artificial flavors or colors, as well as vegans and those with lactose intolerance or allergies, as it does not use eggs or dairy products. Other products contain condensed milk.
